Stammtisch: Free Zoom Meetings for Nurses!

It’s time to start an online community and stay connected while COVID-19 is keeping us apart! Every month we’ll be hosting a free Zoom meeting for nurses. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet and chat with other nurses, and each share our individual knowledge and experience.

We call the get-togethers ’STAMMTISCH’, which is a German word for a reserved table in a pub for people who meet on a regular basis! Although many of the participants will come from a German speaking background, we welcome nurses of any nationality or background.

Meetings take place in English, via Zoom, and last 90 minutes.  We can accommodate about 20 to 25 participants and still have a few places left for the next meeting.

Our next meeting: 27/05/2021, 5pm-6:30pm (UK time)

We would love for you to join us. Just send me a message via Facebook or email at:

Stay tuned for news about get-togethers for midwives too!

Nurse’s View: Looking Back at the Last 12 Months

Sabine’s new article for her regular column on Healthmanagement.org is now available to view!

In her new article, Sabine looks back at the last 12 months.  Despite all the upheaval and hardships caused by the pandemic, what has really changed for healthcare professionals? As a nurse, Sabine asks the question: Are we receiving the help and support we need? We helped to look after everyone else, but who is looking after us?

Please do take a look and stay tuned for the next one!

One Year After the Outbreak of COVID-19: A Nurse’s Review and a Call to Action!

In May 2020 I wrote an open letter appealing to the governments of the world to act quickly to deliver PPE to nurses who were lacking the necessary equipment to work safely during the pandemic.

One year after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s time to look back and acknowledge that serious changes need to happen at a political level to ensure that nurses and other healthcare professionals receive the support they need. Never again should we have to endure the often avoidable hardships that we experienced in the last 12 months.

I have written a new open letter calling for politicians throughout the world to closely examine their health systems and take action to protect the physical and mental health of their workers. Our profession is in danger and needs help!

You can help by sending this letter to your local and national politicians. If we work together, we can force a change!

You can view and download the open letter in English or German, with more languages to follow soon.
